Fox News Guest Wrongly Says That People ‘Shoot Up’ Marijuana

Weed

David Avella of GOPAC, a Republican political training organization, was a guest on a Fox News program, and apparently has no idea how marijuana is used because he referred to people shooting up with marijuana. Avella has been getting slammed on Twitter for his blunder.

Avella said, “California has tried to clear out their prisons and yet every year they continue to have overcrowded prisons,” Newsweek reported. “And the focus ought to be on a society that follows the law, not allowing people to defecate in the streets, not allowing individuals to lay on the street having just shot up with marijuana – or heroin and having a needle sticking out of them.”

Marijuana isn’t used intravenously but is inhaled or ingested. The reaction on Twitter has been amusing as many people have poked fun at Avella, and rightfully so.

Reporter Caleb Ecarma jokingly said via Twitter: “Fox news is very worried about homeless people laying ‘in the street having just shot up with marijuana.’ People forget that weed is always done intravenously.”
